“You will know when the time is right.”
Mark Webb began his career with CFC Properties on July 1, 1986. Earlier this spring, as he approached 39 years with the company, Mark Webb announced his retirement, effective Friday, May 16th, 2025. As the saying goes, “you will know when the time is right”.
Mark has had an illustrious career with CFC that has included many different positions with increasing responsibility, enabling him to develop as a leader and greatly grow his knowledge and skills.
Mark began working for CFC Inc, in 1986 as an HVAC Specialist. He was hired by Steve Ferguson and worked under Carl Baker. At the time, Mark was also a full-time, professional firefighter with the City of Bloomington Fire Department. Mark worked a flexible schedule with CFC to allow him to continue to serve the City of Bloomington while also taking care of CFC and our tenants and residents. He continued to manage both his role as a leader with the Bloomington Fire Department and his growing responsibilities with CFC until January 2015, when he retired from the Fire Department. Immediately following Mark’s retirement as a firefighter, CFC seized on the opportunity to increase Mark’s contributions and impact on the company and offered him a full-time position in February of 2015.
At that time, his position at CFC had evolved from HVAC Specialist to Senior Safety and Security Manager. Mark introduced training to help CFC staff to be prepared in case of an emergency, whether it be weather or security related. In 2022, Mark accepted a new challenge as Director of Real Estate Operations. This was a new area of growth for Mark, but his deep knowledge of CFC operations, coupled with his customer service mindset and long-standing tenant and contractor relations enabled Mark to quickly learn the job. He soon became as much an expert as he had been in HVAC, Safety and Security.
CFC Properties appreciates and thanks Mark for 39 years of dedication and loyalty. His impact on the company and his contributions to the revitalization and continued economic success of downtown Bloomington are immeasurable. His demeanor, humor, knowledge, and leadership will be greatly missed. “You will know when the time is right,” he expressed to us earlier this Spring. We’re glad the time is right for Mark and we’re proud to have worked with you. Thank you from everyone at CFC Properties.
